QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) Software Training

In the last couple of years, Intuit, the maker of QuickBooks has finally provided a point of sale solution for independent retailers. While the QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) software hasn't been spectacularly successful in terms of adoption, Version 2 of QuickBooks POS is a very good retail accounting solution. And it works seamlessly with QuickBooks Pro.

Accordingly, I do provide QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) Software Training. And I can assist you in setting up QuickBooks Point of Sale.

I want to make a special plug for this kind of technology investment. If you're an independent retailer, your inventory makes it very difficult to truly know what you made, for example, last month or last quarter. A large inventory investment also makes it challenging to truly track what inventory items are hot and what are not.

The solution is a point of sale system that lets you know exactly what sells and that lets you know precisely what you hold in inventory.

I will note that large retailers typically enjoy two concrete benefits by installing good point of sale systems: They see their sales increase because they stock more stuff that sells well—and this increases profits of course. And they see their inventory investment decrease because they stock less stuff that doesn't sell well—and this improves their cash flows. This is exciting stuff! A point of sale system might let you increase your sales by 5% or 10%. And the expense of the point of sale system might be more than paid for by the cash savings you enjoy by reducing your inventory of slow-moving items.

Note: People refer to Intuit's accounting system as both QuickBooks and Quick Books. The correct name, however, is actually not Quick Books (two words), but QuickBooks (one word). I've used Quick Books in a handful of places to make it easier for people who "Google" on "Quick Books" to find this page.
