Do-it-yourself LLC Formation and Incorporation
My general recommendation is that investors and business owners work with a good local attorney to setup a limited liability company or a corporation.
Spending a few hundred or even a couple of thousand bucks on good legal and business planning advice is, in my opinion, a great investment if you can find someone who's good.
That said, however, many investors and many small business owners don't have several hundred or a few thousand dollars to spend on legal advice--or least not when they're first starting out. And in this special case, you should know that it's usually very straightforward to setup a limited liability company, an S corporation, or a regular corporation yourself using a do-it-yourself approach.
Accordingly, I wrote several short documents that provide information about and instructions for setting up an LLC or incorporating a business.

A S corporation isn't really a corporation but rather a tax accounting classification that's available to both limited liability companies and regular, old-style corporations. In my opinion, the right way to create an S corporation for most small businesses is by using a limited liability company. Accordingly, I wrote and an affiliated entity published do-it-yourself S corporation kits that explain how to do this. Note that the incorporation kits described in the next paragraph also provide information about how to create an S corporation using not a limited liability company but rather a regular, old-style corporation.

Some Final Notes About Do-it-yourself Incorporation
The affiliated entity which sells these kits, Stephen L. Nelson, Inc., uses PayPal for payment processing. That means you can use either a PayPal account or a major credit card to make your purchase.
An important note: The kits come with a money back guarantee. Accordingly, if you buy a kit and for whatever reason, it doesn't supply the information you need, just email a refund request to steve.nelson@stephenlnelson.com. Your money will be refunded within a day or two. No questions. No hassles. No delay.
Finally, a needed caution: The kits are comprised of (roughly) 25-35 page pdf documents which you download at the time of purchase. If you want a hardcopy paper resource or if you need a lengthy book, you don't want to purchase one of the kits. The kits are designed to be "quick recipes" for setting up limited liability companies, s corporations, and regular corporations.
